Last week we received a phone call from our client in Illinois notifying us about the pleasant result of receiving her unconditional green card, and with that, the agony of an unfortunate young lady and her families ended accordingly.
The story started with us in June of 2011 when our office received a phone call from the client saying that the client and her families would drive from Illinois to Houston to meet with attorney Stewart Lin. They insisted in doing so as Mr. Lin was referred to them and they believed that Mr. Lin was the person who could help the young lady. The families indeed drove two days and came down to Houston. After the meeting, they retained the representation of attorney Lin.
The young lady was married to her US citizen through arrangement at her home country. Unfortunately, after coming to the US with a dream of a perfect marital life, she was subject to cruel treatment of her husband. The cruel treatment was not necessarily physical in nature, but economical and mental.
In January 2012, the client asked Attorney Lin to fly to Chicago with the client to the final hearing/interview. The interview was a success. Last week, out client received the unconditional green card, and her agony and the sadness was accordingly ended.
