EB-1 and NIW: Don・t Be Shy to Ask for Reference. Most Experts Are Willing to Help

Over the years, Lin & Valdez have handled a good number of EB-1 Alien of Extraordinary Ability and EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) applications for our clients and have achieved astounding success in this field.  Based on our experience in it, we want to call to our readers that if you are interested in applying for EB-1 or NIW, don・t be shy to ask for reference.  You should use all the connection you can find to get good references, and you will be surprised that most :superior experts; are willing to help outstanding newcomers.

Diversifying the source of the reference letters is always an important task for our readers interesting in EB-1 and NIW as it can ease the concern of the USCIS that all you have is favor from people around you.  As such, a letter from, for example, an expert in your field you met in an international conference, a researcher of a government agency your :boss; has connection, a big name corporation that has expressed interest in your research, or, certainly, a Nobel laureate, will all add a great plus to your application.

Most people think that a :stranger; will not sign the reference without deep personal relationship.  The reality, however, is that people are more friendly than you think based on our clients・ experience.   A lot of top experts still remember their humble start, and are willing to help newcomers to avoid the difficulties and troubles they encounters.   You may just need to bow your head and make a polite phone call.  Certainly, if your superior, boss, I mean, can make the call for you, you will be surprised how willing the experts are to help you.

While you need all the ammunition to fire your shot at EB-1 and NIW, don・t give up the most powerful ones just because you think they are out of reach.  You will be surprised how close there are to your fingers.
