Success Story: Naturalization Granted to Client For Whom Lawsuit Was Field to the Federal Court

On October 24, 2007, an attorney from the USCIS notified our office that they have granted naturalization to our client for whom Lin & Valdez has filed a lawsuit to the US District Court.  We are happy for the USCISíŽ positive action in this matter, but at the same time wonder why it took the government so long to do so.

This is definitely an unusual case as the client, a young female professional without any criminal record, who filed her naturalization in 2001 and passed the citizenship interview in January of 2002, has to wait until near the end of 2007 to be naturalized.  She has waited for almost six years to hear the final approval after the interview!

During the years, the client has tried many ways to help the case moving but to no avail.  Out of despair, the client finally came to Lin & Valdez.  We prepared the Writ of Mandamus and Request for Hearing on N-400 Petition to the Federal District Court, and finally the government acted on the case.  After over six years of waiting after the case was filed, our client finally received the naturalization ceremony notice.

How many six years a person has in his or her life?  We are glad that we helped the client end the ordeal and the uncertainty. If you are in similar situation, please contact us.  Unfortunate to the US government and to the petitioners, sometimes only filing lawsuit can prod the action of the USCIS!
