Success Story: Religious Special Immigrant Approved on July 17, 2008

On July 23, 2008, we received an approval notice issued by the USCIS on July 17, 2008 for an I-360 petition we filed in January of 2008.  The petition was for a religious organization for hiring its abbot on a permanent  basis.  This is one of many religious immigrant approvals we have obtained for a variety of religious organizations in the US.

It is noteworthy that about two weeks prior to the issuance of its approval, the USCIS actually sent its agent to visit our client at our clientˇ¦s organization.  In the agentˇ¦s visit, Attorney Stewart Lin was also present to accompany the responsible person of our client.  The meeting turned out to be a very pleasant and productive one.  In the meeting, our client and Attorney Stewart Lin introduced the purpose, the organization, the structure, and the functioning of the organization in great detail to the USCIS officer.  Attorney Stewart Lin also briefed the agent the credential of the beneficiary of the petition, who is serving in R visa to the organization.  Although the officer has some questions about the vow of poverty the Buddhism organization promotes, and how the beneficiary was paid and compensated, after hearing the explanation from Mr. Lin, the officer was convinced of the appropriation of the compensation provided by the organization.  Less than 20 days after the meeting, the approval was issued.

Over the years, Lin & Valdez has applied for many religious immigrants and obtained approval for the religious organizations. If your religious organization is pondering upon applying for your religious worker for R-1 visa, or for immigration, please contact us immediately.  The help you need is just a click away!
