Success Story: Asylum Granted by Immigration Court to Our Client Who Has Been Detained for Over One Year

On Dec. 13, 2019, a Judge of US Immigration Court in New York granted asylum to another one of our clients.  This is a very special case as on the one hand, our client was detained at Monroe LA, yet the trial was held by an immigration judge in New York through video, and on the other hand and more importantly, by the time of the trial our client has been detained in the ICE detention center for over a year.  With the approval, our client was released from the detention center that afternoon, and is now happily reunited with his families.

Our client in this case was persecuted in his country and fled to the US to seek protection.  For the trial, Attorney Stewart Lin traveled to Monroe, LA from Houston.  Through Mr. Lin’s argument, the court is convinced of the persecution our client experienced and hence issued the positive ruling.
